Once the area is numb the decay is removed. The inlay is made from porcelain with an impression of the tooth. Coloring is matched to your tooth.

Onlays and crowns are very much the same, but cover larger areas of the tooth. The onlay covers the biting surface including cuspids. While the crown is a porcelain cap that fits over or replaces the visible portion of the tooth above the gums.
